KLIMT WOMEN
This is a card I made by combining collage elements and rubberstamps
I had this clipped scrap of a painting by Gustav Klimt (the two women) and I decided to use it as the focus element in a collage. I choose more cuttings that could go with it and I moved them around on the card to decide where they should have their right spot. Then I started with stamping the swirls on top and I painted them with aquarels. I then glued down the cuttings. I left the finished piece resting down until dry, then I brushed it with a waterbased glossy varnish. I gave it several coats waiting for the piece to dry between coats and I ended with a light coat of crackling varnish.

BEAUTY
The card to the right was done keeping the theme "women" to mind. I carefully chose the cuttings from my "magic box". OK, if you are wondering, my magic box is nothing but a box where I throw all interesting images I find around. When I'm in search of ideas, I always go through my "magic box" and eight times out of ten I find something suitable! So, all these images where found in there. The Klimtonian swirls are a "Cherry Pie" rubberstamp, but I stamped the image on a piece of scrap paper and I cut it out too. The long necked woman on the right bottom side is a famous painting by one of my favourite painters: Modigliani. This part of the card I finished with crackling varnish. The rest is only varnished to a thick glossy finish.

Homage to Leonardo's land

I again put my nose into the magic box and found all these elements that I combined together.... All sealed with some generous coats of varnish. To give a sort of 3D effect to my collages, I also add some paint to the borders to resemble a shadow and "lift up" the image.
